Baden Powell Technique

15 posts in this topic

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out what Baden Powell does at 0:00 - 0:16 (for example. He does it a lot in this piece, and not just here but anywhere)

(Baden Powell - Formosa)

Been trying to slow down but still hasn't caught the right fingering he does.

Anyone?

Thanks!

Liran

Hi Liran,

Welcome to the forum. Baden uses i-m in a way that's very distinct from the classical technique.

We had an interesting discussion about Baden's technique in the past, here's one of the topics:

We also talked about Brazilian guitar techniques in general, as well, and Baden comes first.

It's not much different, I'll try and record a short video showing that passage by the end of this week.

If you happen to already know the chords, it'd help me save the effort to try and learn them by ear.

Otherwise I might use different chords, same beat. :)

I didn't have a chance to sit down and record it yet, but it's on my action items list. :)

I didn't forget you, I've been busy and traveling all the time, unable to sit down and record.
