He studied for a while with Paulinho Nogueira, and produced a really nice solo CD by him, Reflexões (was issued here in the US by Malandro Records). The CD is out of print now (unfortunately).

Kristi, since you like the Bellinati CD so much, you should get the other recordings he's made for GSP (Guitar Solo Publications). They're terrific! (All 6-string classical; no viola caipira, etc.)

Thanks, Claudinha!

I don't like buying from iTunes; the DRM and the low bitrate are the reason... I did check amazon.com's MP3 store, but their CD isn't there (yet). And a friend is looking for a copy (actually, one for me, one for them) in Rio right now. I sent the link to their YouTube page and my friend loves their playing.

It would probably be easiest to get a copy of their CD in either Campinas or SP, but ... oh well. I guess I have to put them on the list of musicians I plan to hear whenever I have enough $ to go to Brazil myself! biggrin.gif It would be great if someone could bring them up here for a tour, because I think people would love this kind of music (and Almir Sater, too!). If only the economy was better... and if the US visa regulations weren't so ridiculous. (Although I do have some hope about the visa stuff, now that Obama is president.)
